Professor Harald Peters

Prof. Dr. Harald Peters has got his Dipl.-Ing. (comparable to MSc) in electrical engineering with a specialisation to process automation in 1985 from the University of Wuppertal, Germany and his PhD from the same University in 1990 with a thesis about the „Situation Recognition at continuous technical processes“. In 2011 he has got a honorary professorship from the Technical University of Aachen, at which he gives lectures about the "Application of Data Mining technologies in the environment of technical processes" since 2003.
Since 1991 Prof. Peters works in several positions at the “VDEh-Betriebsforschungsinstitut GmbH“ in Düsseldorf, Germany, which is a central research institute of the German steel industry. Today he is general manager of the institute (since the 1st of January 2017) and is responsible for all scientific and technical issues. Furthermore he is member of the European Steel Technology Platform (ESTEP) and is currently the chairmen of the ESTEP Working Group “Integrated Intelligent Manufacturing (I2M)” which deals with the field of „Industry 4.0“ applications in steel industry.
